“Art Without Limits” Exhibition & Fundraiser for United Cerebral Palsy

UCP Preschool Program

SMG MOBILE is proud to present “Art Without Limits” exhibition for United Cerebral Palsy.  Please join us in Saenger Theatre’s Room 1927 during LoDa Art Walk on September 8th and October 13th to learn more about UCP and what they do as an organization. Clients from UCP Preschool and the Adult Day Program have prepared art pieces within the classroom and as therapeutic practice. With over 13 programs serving over 700 families each month, UCP Preschool and Adult Day are a true example that the programs they offer span over the course of a lifetime.  Their works of art will be up for sale to help these vital programs.

Preschool – UCP Preschool, partnering with Mobile County Public School System, offers preschool classes to approximately twenty-five children with and without disabilities each year. Our preschool classes allow students to combine typical preschool activities, such as story-time and crafts, with their individual regimen of speech, occupational and/or physical therapy. UCP strives to provide a loving, nurturing and creative environment that will challenge each child to reach his or her greatest potential.

Adult Day – The mission of the adult day program is to provide a safe, healthy environment with diverse opportunities for adults with a broad spectrum of disabilities in order to increase their level of social participation through various activities and enhance their community involvement.

United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile is a 501(c)3 charity organization that strives to promote the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Programs include Preschool, Supported Employment, Adult Day, Camp SMILE, Early Intervention, HEARTS Respite, Traditional Respite, Speech/Occupational/Physical Therapy, CCEP (Childcare Enhancement with a Purpose), Electronics Recycling Services, UCP Tees: A Promotional Printing Program and Computer Physicians.

SMG MOBILE proudly manages the city of Mobile’s Mobile Civic Center, Mobile Convention Center and Saenger Theatre.

During LODA’s Artwalk (second Friday of every month) Room 1927 will be open for the community.  Our resident artist, Riley Brenes, curated the space with artists that have contributed to arts education. LODA ArtWalk is a free community event held from 6 to 9 PM in downtown Mobile that features artists at different venues.  Room 1927 is located at 6 South Joachim Street between the lobby entrance and box office. *Open for LODA ArtWalk, unless the room is contracted for another event.

Various Mobile County youth programs will display selected works from their Arts Education Program. Participating programs are the Mobile Arts Council, Alabama Contemporary Art Center, Strickland Youth Center, Mobile Housing Board and the Boys & Girls Clubs Of South Alabama.
