The Color Purple

We will be taking donations for the Penelope House at The Color Purple Movie – Mobile Saenger Theatre by collecting these highly needed items:
1) Flip-flops for all sizes (adults and children)
2) Standard pillow cases and twin sheets
3) Diapers (sizes 4,5,6)
Please bring items to the movie and help support victims of domestic violence. Thank you!

The Summer Classic Movie Series will run from July 16 – August 20, 2017. On Sunday afternoons, the Saenger Theatre will feature a famous classic movie to be shown at 3 p.m. with the doors opening at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are general admission: $6 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under and $3 for 60+ senior.  All movies will be seated on a first-come-first-served basis. Tickets are sold at the box offices and are not available for online purchasing.  Tickets can be purchased at either the Saenger Theatre Box Office located at 6 South Joachim Street, Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. or at the Mobile Civic Center Box Office located at 401 Civic Center Drive, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  The Saenger Box Office will open at 12:30 p.m. on the day of the movie.

The main concession stand downstairs will be open for snacks and beverages such as popcorn, sodas, candy, beer, wine and mixed drinks.

“The Color Purple”(1985) Drama – Based on the novel by Alice Walker, screenplay by Menno Meyjes and directed by Steven Spielberg.  A story in which a black Southern woman struggles to find her identity after suffering abuse from her father and others over four decades.  Starring Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey.
